Each week we will immerse ourselves in the stories, teachings, visualizations, mantras and meditations associated with a specific Wisdom Practice. Wisdom Practices are ancient teachings shared by all major world religions and indigenous cultures including—but not limited to—gratitude, compassion, relationship, service, shadow work, nature, play and inquiry.
Many of these practices are beautiful, ancient, cross-cultural wisdom practices found exclusively in the oral tradition. Some of the traditions are over two thousand years old in practice and teaching. Meditation is, itself, a timeless Wisdom Practice for awakening. My intention is fourfold: to demystify the art and practice of meditation; to share with you the essence of each wisdom practice; to provide a variety of exercises in each wisdom practice that you can chose to do on your own—in between classes; and leave you with a library of tools that support you in building and maintaining a daily meditation practice that works for you.
It is my hope that these Wisdom Practices, along with a daily meditation practice, will offer you a path for awakening your inner guru and a new way of being that brings you closer to spirit and a relaxed, centered awareness, in each moment.
