Compassionate engagement is the outward expression of awakened, aware, consciousness. It arises from the truth that all life is pure consciousness—that we are all related.
In practice, compassionate engagement is the reverential and respectful extension of oneself to others and self in
- open-hearted listening,
- acknowledging suffering,
- and any further actions required
- for healing,
- justice making,
- and right relationship.
Compassionate engagement with others is not possible until we can extend compassion to our self. We remove obstacles to self compassion with the spiritual practices of
- acts of celebration,
- shadow work,
- critical reflection of our actions,
- and letting be.
